Studlink Anchor Chain mainly used for anchoring projects, normally know as two type stud link marine anchor chain studless marine anchor chain. Originally studs were added to the chain to stiffen the links preventing them from severely deforming when overloaded. They have the added advantage in that they prevent the chain from knotting up when twisted, thus avoiding problems when chain is retrieved with a windlass.

Stud Link Anchor Chains should be made by flash butt welding as far as possible. Chain links are allowed to be made by drop forging or casting.The welding of the Stud shall be carried out only on the Links on the opposite side of the flash welded, and there shall be no visible gap between the two ends of the Stud and the Links; Welding shall be done by qualified welders with suitable materials; All welding shall be performed prior to the final heat treatment of the chain. After welding, there should be no defects that affect the performance of anchor chain.
